Nicholas & Lee Begovich Gallery is an inclusive and accessible space for the community from all types of backgrounds to come together, engage, and collaborate.

Brief

Purpose

To feel welcome, educate, encourage dialogue and expression, create excitement, and engage

Message

Art intersects all disciplines. It is not limited to creating and expression. It is a dialogue that everyone can be a part of that is diverse and inclusive.

Audience

CSUF current students, alumni, faculty, staff, and communities outside CSUF – the general public and the art world.

Logo

The logomark utilizes an outlined version of the initials “NLBG” in order to simplify the mark to its purest and most fundamental form– lines. In doing so, the linear form serves as a visual understanding that is open to the whole community. The initials can be seen cut down and connected to each other, so that it relies on the next letterform to be recognized. This notion refers to unity, support, and collaboration. Lastly, the “arrow” in the G provides a sense of encouragement for participation and engagement.

Typography

The typeface used for Nicholas and Lee Begovich Gallery’s logo and branding development is Circular STD, a modern and geometric sans-serif. The roundness of the typeface displays a friendly and approachable look, which is aligned with Begovich Gallery’s mission to provide a friendly and welcoming platform.

Color Palette

The colors orange and blue are used in reference to Cal State Fullerton, however, I opted for brighter and more vibrant color profiles. The brighter colors are used to evoke excitement and boldness. The green provides freshness, which is relevant to the Begovich Gallery’s contemporary displays and communities that offer a new perspective.

UI Icons

The icons for the navigation bar are a part of The Begovich’s visual identity. The asterick is associated with a spark, which is relevant to the the poster’s text “Curiosity sparks conversations.” The icon in Past Shows utilizes three circles within another circle symbolizing community collaboration. The eye is a metaphor for perspective, which can come from the Begovich platform. The arrow is used as a sense of encouragement for engagement and collaboration.
